RMLV Training

As of January 1, 2009, Responsible Management of Licensed Venues (RMLV) training became mandatory for all licensed venue managers in Queensland. This legislation affects those applying for new licenses, those transferring their license, those changing the nominee on a license, as well as all managers that have not completed the course in the past three years or held the same type of license within the past three years. This RMLV training course satisfies the needs of this mandatory requirement and now includes an RSA Certificate.

The RMLV training course focuses on the Liquor Act (1992) and was developed by the Queensland Office of Liquor, Gaming and Racing to regulate the running of licensed venues. These regulations are put into effect to protect the staff and patrons of licensed venues along with the community as a whole. The person that games and drinks irresponsibly often requires an outside influence to minimise the harm this person becomes to themselves and to others. As a manager with RMLV training, you become the person to intervene in such cases. Important legislative and licensing issues are addressed in this comprehensive course.

Too often, many issues involving excessive alcohol and gaming in a licensed venue become litigious. Without the proper RMLV training, the manager may avoid taking proper action when faced with an intoxicated or excessively gaming patron for fear of the situation turning into a lawsuit. However, all managers have a duty of care to their patrons and must take appropriate action to deal with the situation. RMLV training teaches how and why to take action and gives the participant the skills & knowledge they need to perform their job with confidence and also to meet government regulations.

The RMLV training course is delivered over two days, face to face in a classroom setting and participants an RMLV and RSA certificate. For your convenience, RMLV training is held at regularly scheduled dates throughout Queensland.
