Violence will not be tolerated warns police
Violence perpetrators have been warned that they will face imprisonment by Local Area Command Sergeant Cliff Scarlett.
A number of violent incidences, fuelled by alcohol, where no responsibility was taken by the offenders have occured recently.
In the early hours of the morning, police took a male into custody after he was caught assulting another male by kicking him while he was on the ground.
The offender, who had not previous arrests of this nature, was sentenced to an 1 1/2 custodial sentence.
Sergeant Scarlett said that the local police are continuing to work with licensed venues in the area in relation to the responsible service of alcohol.
