Things were certainly heating up on Monday night at Sydney's Carriageworks when 36 of Australia's top chefs teamed up with over 100 of the country's top CEOs for the 2014 CEO Cookoff. Together, they cooked a meal for almost 1000 of Sydney's most vulnerable while raising just over $1,000,000 for charity.
Just some of the chefs at the event were Matt Moran, Neil Perry, Maggie Beer, Justin North and Guillaume Brahimi.
The Cookoff, a joint initiative of OzHarvest and Qantas, aimed to draw attention to the issue of food security and the challenges faced by youth in crisis. All monies raised on the night will be donated to OzHarvest, Tribal Warrior and Life Changing Experiences.
"It's wonderful to be part of something like this. You can actually see that there is so much of the community involved in this. It's the coming together of the CEOs to do all of the fundraising, the chefs who provide the opportunity of the dinner, the homeless and the agencies who feed the homeless every day to come and enjoy the experience," says Rockpool's Neil Perry.
Matt Moran stated that if there was just one burger that he could taste from Monday night's event it would be that of Michael Rantissi from Kepos Street Kitchen.
"Kepos Street Kitchen is probably one of my favourite cafes, and I love the flavours that Rantissi uses."
