Williamstown, Altona and Sunshine topped the list for contaminated food outlets while the Hobsons Bay Council area received the most black marks in the state for poor food hygiene.
Two of the three offending Altona outlets are located in Borrack Square and include Wah Sing Take Away and Bakers Delight, which is now under new management.
The former franchisee of Baker's Delight Beepbake Pty Ltd was order to pay $4500 in costs as well as $3500 in fines in November for seven breaches of the Food Act.
Paul Houlihan, the spokesman for Bakers Delight, said that, "the new owner took over operations of Bakers Delight Borrack Square and has been compliant with the relevant food authorities and Bakers Delight internal measures."
Cynthia Tsang from Wah Sing Take Away declined to make any comment.
The majority of the breaches were for poor food storage, dirty equipment and pest infestations.
Around 1.3 million cases of foodborne illness are reported in Victoria each year, mainly due to poor food preparation, handling and storage of food. Most of these cases related to the home.
