A promotion run by the Star Casino is being investigated by the Independent Liquor and Gaming Authority to determine if it complies with the laws that govern the casino.
For the promotion, the Casino had models handing out $5 vouchers on the streets for free bets, as well as other offers which are seen to be aimed at ‘L-plate’ gamblers.
The authority’s compliance officers stated that they have never seen attempts to lure customers from the streets this way by the casino before. They said it was the way the casino was luring these ‘L’ plater punters that might break the law, rather than the handing out of the free bets.
