Changes to fees for liquor licence applications, approvals and authorisations in NSW

From 1 September 2014, increases to application fees for liquor licences, approvals and authorisations will apply.

Some fees have not changed in over 30 years. Currently the application fee recovers less than 30% of the cost of actually processing the application. The increases will affect existing licence holders who apply to the Independent Liquor & Gaming Authority of the Office of Liquor, Gaming & Racing for liquor licences, approvals and authorisations and new applicants.

The fee changes were recommended by the Liquor Act Review Report.

From 1 September 2014 the new fees will apply for new licences, approvals and most authorisations. Online and paper-based application forms will be updated to reflect the changes to the fees.

New applications and applications that are not lodged by 1 September 2014 will be charged the new fees.

A table is available on the OLGR website which shows the fee changes from 1 September 2014.
