Spewlies dodge new law

Lucky schoolies - the new Queensland Liquor and Gaming Commission will not be operational until the last days of November.

As predicted in the Gold Coast Bulletin, liquor legislation has hit Parliament and reforms will include 12-month bans for drunken pests and restricted trading hours for new bottle shops..........

Bans, including those offered to courts, are designed 'to ensure safety, welfare and good order of licensed premises and the surrounding public areas within the drink-safe precincts'. But the legislation may only apply to adults.  Under 18's can please themselves.  Surfers Paradise will be first followed by the Valley area in Brisbane and Flinders Street, Townsville........
