Sushi Food Safety Breaches

ABC news has reported that the Cherry Blossom Sushi Bar outlet in Newton has pleaded guilty to a total of 40 breaches of the Food Safety Standards code of Australia after assuring patrons in the International Business Times – Australia that “the highest level of commitment to food health and safety is our first priority. Cherry Blossom is HACCP Accredited and operates a rigorous training and audit program to ensure not just compliance, but a culture of the highest standards of hygiene.”

Officials noted that Cherry Blossom failed to prevent the raw sushi ingredients from becoming contaminated due to the rolls not being kept under the recommended temperature control.
Following their guilty plea, the owner of Cherry Blossom Sushi Bar now has an anxious wait until October to hear its sentence.
