  • Product Recalls - September

    The NSW Food Authority advises that the following products have been recalled :


    • K & S Indian Foods  -  "Has no" Chickpea Crisps, sold in ALDI stores in NSW, ACT, QLD and VIC.



  • No alcohol on Manly ferries!

    An application by the Harbour City Ferries to serve alcohol on the Manly ferry has been rejected by the Independent Liquor and Gaming Authority (ILGA).

    The ILGA ruled that, despite many of their arguments being accepted as valid, it felt that the arguments to reject the appllication were stronger, particularly with regard to the impact it may have on other passengers and commuters.

  • Changes to fees for liquor licence applications, approvals and authorisations in NSW

    From 1 September 2014, increases to application fees for liquor licences, approvals and authorisations will apply.

  • Stockton Beach algal bloom : NSW Food Authority advice

    The NSW Department of Primary Industries had advised that :

    • a toxic algal bloom has been detected in the waters of Stockton Beach. The species of algae detected produces diarrhetic shellfish poisoning toxins

  • Tassie hoteliers resist State Government moves to tighten rules for serving alcohol

    A tightening of alcohol service rules is recommended following a review of the state Liquor Licensing Act. This recommendation has angered hospitality industry officials as, under the proposed changes, around 20 000 of the state's hospitality workers will have to resit the Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) test every five years.
