If you are considering a career in the hospitality industry, or would one day like to own or manage a licensed venue, then the RMLV Training Course from CFT Queensland is the ticket to launching your career.
CFT Queensland is a Registered Training Organization that effectively trains more than 50,000 people each year for careers in the hospitality, retail, food processing, health and community sectors. Their course offerings include Responsible Management of Licensed Venues (RMLV) Training, which is a requirement if you would like to work as the manager of a licensed liquor establishment such as a bar or restaurant.
Developed by the Queensland Office of Liquor, Gaming and Racing (OLGR) and taught by OLGR-approved trainers, the RMLV Training course at CFT Queensland includes comprehensive training in all aspects of the Liquor Act 1992.
Over the course of your RMLV training, you will learn about all aspects of managing a licensed venue, including: noise management strategies; licenses, permits and safety management strategies; other legislative considerations of the license document; risk management, benefits of good management; patron management strategies; and support networks available to you.
You will learn face-to-face alongside your instructors and fellow students during this day-and-a-half-long RMLV Training course, and at the end you will get the additional bonus of receiving your Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) Certificate – another requirement for anyone who wants to work in a licensed establishment.
The RSA component of your RMLV Training course provides you with further knowledge and skills that will serve you throughout your career, including: a variety of facts about the effects of alcohol; strategies to prevent intoxication and underage drinking; how to politely refuse service while maintaining great customer service; the legalities of serving alcohol and more.
Worked in the industry for a while and wondering if you need to update your RMLV training? You need this course if you haven’t completed the RMLV course in the past three years or have not held the same type of license within the past three years.
If you are in a supervisory or management position and would like to be a nominee or licensee, you can also undertake RMLV training. The course is also recommended for licensee company directors.
RMLV Training courses from CFT Queensland run once per month from September to December at 16 locations throughout Queensland in 2013. This year the list includes five new locations at Bowen, Gladstone, Hervey Bay, Airlie Beach and Maryborough. See the training calendar for further details about locations and course times.
Regular cost for RMLV Training is $495, but right now folks in Brisbane and the Gold Coast can take advantage of a $395 special for October RMLV courses. You get to skip the GST on this course, because upon successful completion you will get a statement of attainment for the nationally recognised elements of competency, SITXGLC001A and SITHFAB009A.
