A Sunshine Coast hinterland dairy recalled around 20,000 litres of milk after laboratory tests revealed that it was contaminated with the E. coli bacteria.
Maleny Dairy warned that people may feel ill if they drink their milk with a use-by date of February 12 or 13.
Maleny Dairies owner Ross Hopper apologised yesterday to customers, confirming that the recall had been made voluntarily after stringent testing procedures picked up evidence of the bacteria.
He explained that, "We don't want to make anyone crook. we want to be transperant."
